It's time to get ready for sowing - choose your chilli seeds

Chilli peppers develop very slowly. A bag of seeds contains at least ten seeds. Sow directly into small individual pots or seed trays with poor potting soil or herb potting soil and separate the seedlings as soon as the first true leaf appears between the cotyledons. At the beginning before germination, temperatures of 25-28 degrees Celsius are needed, after germination you can keep the plants a little cooler 22-24 degrees Celsius, in a bright place that is not in direct strong sunlight for a long time, they develop compactly and form a strong shoot. Keep the soil moist but not too wet or the tender roots will rot.

For sowing, use a seed substrate that will force the seeds to develop a root system after germination. If you want to avoid laborious picking, plant the seeds in so-called planters.

2

Lightly press the substrate in the planter, then make a small hole with a pencil and place three seeds in it. The sowing should be watered with a sprayer so that the substrate is moistened in the entire profile, covered with a transparent cover (thin film) and placed in a warm and bright place. Be careful about watering - if the hay is overwatered, it can rot, water so that the substrate is always evenly moist and not unnecessarily soaked. Seedlings germinate after one week (e.g. Cayenne and Jalapeno or even Habanero germinate faster), some varieties (e.g. C.reaper, Trinidad Sc.) only after 10-20 days.
